Hope

5.16.2022

Last night Karin and I attended a special event called “There is Hope.” We heard an inspiring message from Tim Tebow centered on the hope we have in Christ. It was a timely message because so many can lose hope in such a dark world. So, today I thought I would reach back for a devotion centered on hope.

Many times in life we do something and hope for good outcomes. We have trouble and we hope for deliverance. We need something and we hope we get it. How often do we say; ‘let’s hope…?’

Hope is vital to our existence. They say hope is the only thing that keeps people alive when nothing else will help. Hope can keep us going when all seems lost. ‘Let’s hope…’

Since hope is so critical I’d like us to remember where our hope lies and how our hope in Christ can make the difference when life hits us hard. Whether you are facing tough times or not, whether you have hope or not, whether you are cruising in life or bogged down here are some Scriptures to remind us of the hope we have in Christ. Hope that sustains, hope that delivers, hope that is powerful.

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews‬ ‭6:19-20‬ ‭

“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans‬ ‭5:5‬

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭

“Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭31:24‬ ‭

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.” II Corinthians‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭

What wonderful nuggets of hope to cling to. What a blessing it is to have God’s Word and ‘let’s hope’ we feast on these words continually so it nourishes our spirits in the day of our need and struggle.

Prayer focus: for those impacted by the several shootings this past weekend.
